As far as cracker barrels go, this one is by far the best! I had cold mashed potatoes, which was my one and only complaint and the manager came over and apologized, offered me even more food (I had to refuse, I was stuffed). I got the sampler... the ham was so sweet and warm, the dumplings were pure awesomeness as always and the meat loaf is to die for! My son had a great time eating his chicken tenders, he's not picky at all. All in all, I would say GO HERE! It's a great restaurant with excellent service!

As subtle as a fart to the face. The service was passable. I think our waitress was stoned as hell. She couldn't understand COLE SLAW. Or what passes here for cole slaw. Which I guess dry cabbage and swath or two of mayo. Sad. I had the sampler. The ham was salty as hell. chicken in the dumplings was dry. Meat loaf was decent. Oh and the crapper was disgusting

We take a lot of weekend drives and this is our go to place for breakfast. You really can't beat the price and we've never had anything bad.

My friend and I met here for lunch. Wait was short which is good for this place. Our waitress was a bit spacey....she forgot to bring my friend's drink and did not know the soup or veggies of the day without looking them up. Food was tasty. I had the Reuben sandwich with fries and my friend had a sampler platter. She ordered mashed potatoes with no gravy as a side but showed up with gravy. The waitress implied it was the kitchen's fault as she had marked no gravy. She brought a replacement. We have been to this Cracker Barrel before and usually have good food and service. Even with the little mishaps I am sure we will go back.

The staff here take their work seriously and care about service. It would have been five stars were there not a few mistakes so decide for yourself if I'm being harsh and should give five! As for the food, it's well cooked and ample if not overly huge - tasty and delicious! Not a health food place by any means but fantastic for a comfort food mealtime.

We had a great time without feeling rushed. The only thing off were my eggs. I ordered sunny side up but they weren't done the way I like. Other than that the food was great. The staff was friendly. I am a big eater and I mean big lol and happily my bill was still under $60 including drinks. We drove all the way from Maryland and it was well worth it. This is now our spot.

My husband and I came here 30 min before closing and the restaurant was great! Everyone was happy to serve. The food wasn't the best because the cook had already left but they did their best and we were able to eat and sometimes that's all that matters. Our server, Teddy, was wonderful and engaging up until we left. The manager, whose name I did not get, was funny too. It's the 4th of July and nobody complained about being at work. That was refreshing considering we had traveled from North Carolina and had already heard those woes from other people.

This is by far the worst location I have ever eaten at. It is unfortunate because I usually love Cracker Barrel. The service was mediocre at best. Our salads and soup arrived at the table after our meals and we had to remind the runner that they were missing. The waitress said it was because they were backed up and she had to make them herself. The typically fluffy biscuits were flat and hard and a medium hamburger steak was served near burnt. I highly recommend avoiding this location, and if you must have Cracker Barrel you are better off driving a little farther and eating at the York location.

I'm not going to go into a long winded explanation here but to put it mildly, this CB sucks and the staff agrees. I ordered the meatloaf and the top of it was black, burnt, and rock hard. After removing the inedible portion, that left me with only about half the meatloaf to eat. Now it would have been nice to have been able to complain to someone but the only manager-looking person in the place was bussing tables and our server did a disappearing act that would have made Copperfield jealous. She brought us our drinks and took our food order and then she was gone until she brought the check 45 minutes later. That part about the staff agreeing is because when I went to the register to pay the cashier asked how the food was and when I told her the meatloaf story her instant answer was "It's not surprising". When I asked her why she went on a two minute or so rant about her saying that she would never eat the CB food because it sucks and that the kitchen is highly disorganized with " a bunch of Indians and no chief". She also said that I was not the first person to complain about the meatloaf that day and I was not even the first person to complain about it during the six o'clock hour. So with that in mind, I'm going to chock up this CB in the never again category and I'm also going to take the necessary step to protect my colon by crossing off CB's meatloaf in the (Blap!) future and hell while I'm at it let's just cross off this microwaved banquet hall style slop completely by 86ing off the entire CB chain as this is not the first CB to lay a gastronomic egg on my plate but it is by far the worst.

This might be the best Cracker Barrel I've been to. A friend and I went here last Friday on our way to Hershey. It's just passed the state line. The staff is great, warm and friendly. Alex, our server, was attentive and personable. I had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and sawmill gravy, macaroni and cheese, and greens. I'm not the biggest fan of greens especially at restaurants; they're usually too sweet, but seriously these were comparable to my grandmothers! The mashed potatoes have been my favorite since I was a little girl, although lacking a little salt (better than too much), they didn't disappoint. The gravy was thicker than I like but flavorful nonetheless. The steak was perfectly seasoned and fried crisp but still juicy inside. For dessert I had the seasonal strawberry shortcake. It had great spongy cake, fresh strawberries in their own juice, fresh whipped cream and vanilla bean ice cream. It was delicious even down the road in the car lol. My friend and I enjoyed the food so much we went back yesterday!

Yesterday, 3/19/13, a group of friends and I, eleven of us, visited this establishment for a late lunch. All of us were pleasantly treated with the utmost of professionalism. The atmosphere was great, the food was superb, and most importantly, our waitress was the best, bless her heart. This is my first ever visit to a Cracker Barrel and would go back again. I definitely would reccommend the New Freedom, PA restaurant to all my friends.

We love sunday chicken dinner and saturday breakfast. Cheap eats for all that you get. Service is always friendly and the wait is reasonably most of the time.

We stopped here on our way to Lancaster, PA just to look at the store and take a break from the driving. After checking out the dining area with the blazing fire in the fireplace, we decided to stay for lunch/breakfast. The food arrived hot, though after a long wait. The pancackes were very good and rich covered with a blackberry sauce. The breakfast dishes of eggs grits, bisquits and baked apple were tasty and one person relished his Ruben's sandwitch. We liked the friendly atmosphere, but not the long wait. We ended up spending too much time at the restaurant, rather than getting to our appointment in Lancaster.

We usually eat at two CBs in Missouri a few Sundays a month. The Tiffany Springs location (near the KC airport is our usual haunt and its usually pretty good...our occasional CB is Columbia, MO and it is usually below average.) THIS CB in New Freedom was GREAT! The service was excellent, the food came out hot and fast and my husband's BLT was packed with goodies (That NEVER happens at other CBs)!
